研究方向:
  学的核心问题是理解基因型对表型的影响以及自然选择在这个过程中的作用。我们实验室对与之相关的许多进化问题均有兴趣。我们当前研究主要是利用进化生物学方法研究由小RNA(microRNA、siRNA和piRNA)和长非编码RNA(lincRNA)介导的基因调控。
  在进行的果蝇全基因组测序项目(约500个黑腹果蝇品系及20多个果蝇物种全基因组已测定)和“千人基因组计划”为我们在物种内和物种间水平上研究非编码RNA的进化模式及其对转录组和表型的影响提供了很好的机会。我们当前的研究涵盖了新一代高通量测序技术、计算生物学、比较和功能基因组、进化理论和群体遗传学模拟等方法。我们最终研究目标是从系统生物学水平上理解1)非编码RNA调控怎样维持生物过程的稳定性,和2)与非编码RNA调控相关的遗传变异怎样引起表型变异和疾病。
当前我们主要的研究项目是:
  1)非编码RNA的起源、进化、以及驱动新非编码RNA基因进化的机理。
  2)利用RNA-Seq, ribosome profiling, 基因敲除和进化基因组学等方法鉴定非编码 RNA调控的靶基因。
  3)非编码RNA调控所引起的基因表达变异和疾病发生的机制。
  4)piRNA和转座子之间的相互作用引起的杂种不育。
